I believe that your wellbeing is uniquely yours. I see my role as being someone to support and guide your growth and healing. From my lived experiences, I understand that this process can be messy, heartbreaking and uncomfortable. As your therapist, I will honour your journey and empower you with compassion and curiosity, to uncover what makes you the person you are. Together, you can nurture a new relationship with yourself and others.
I receive clinical supervision and training to support the needs of my clients. As a white passing Métis woman, I continuously aim to identify and challenge harmful beliefs and the systems that create and maintain them. So much of what impacts us is shaped by the patriarchal and colonial waters in which we swim. A big part of our work together is examining issues through this lens and challenging what we have been taught to believe is “normal”.
My Approach
I primarily incorporate Experiential, Existential and Attachment-based therapies and Queer theory, but adapt my approach to meet my clients’ needs and personalities. I also embrace the diverse and countless ways of being and expressing oneself. Additional modalities used include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method, Adlerian therapy, and Somatic and Polyvagal therapies.
Each person brings their own unique story comprised of life experiences, identities, values and culture. I believe therapy should reflect this uniqueness by incorporating approaches and techniques that align with each client's interests, needs and comfort. Together, we will create an approach that works for you. You are the expert in your life. My role is to support you as we explore how and why you've arrived at this point, pulling the threads that run through your life to bring clarity, healing and growth.
